Broccoli & Greens Over Bow Ties

July 7th, 2008

Tonight’s easy, simple dinner: saute broccoli (in small pieces), 2 cloves minced fresh garlic (milder than regular, dried garlic), and a little salt and pepper in olive oil. Add rough-chopped braising greens on top. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the pan and cook over medium heat until the greens are wilted and broccoli is tender. Serve greens over bow tie pasta with leftover hamburgers on the side.

I don’t know if I am sold on the greens over pasta…is it yummy? I guess the flavours in the greens (salt and garlic etc…) cover up the plain pasta taste? Also, do you really braise your braising greens?:O)

Yummy? Well, it does not taste like chocolate cake! But I think it is very tasty for something that is so good for you. Forget about the pasta, that’s really just for the boys. The flavor is all in the greens. And no, I do not braise them! — Dara

"Dirty Little Secret," by All-American Rejects. We played Rock Band on our friends' Wii New Year's Eve, and had a total blast. This was my favorite song to sing. When I checked out the video today I was tickled to find it based on Postsecret!
