Winner! Healthy Habits Plate for Kids

November 18, 2008

The winner of the Healthy Habits Plate contest is Ranee at Arabian Knits! Ranee’s family eats Thanksgiving dinner at 6 — that’s late compared to most readers who commented. Seems most of you, like my family, start eating in the afternoon (we’ll have people arrive around 3, and sit down to eat around 4). Congrats, Ranee!

Special thanks to Amy at Super Healthy Kids, the creator of the Healthy Habits plate, for giving one away to a Chick in the Kitchen reader.

I love that there is a random number generator online!

Also, I love that on Amy’s site she has a recipe for the peanut butter balls that I LOVED when I was a kid. Seriously my mom and I used to make them all the time. They were in my Care Bears No Cook Cookbook. The book contained other such classic recipes as “Ants on a Log” which was celery with cream cheese and raisins.

Thank you again! I normally don’t win anything and in the last year I’ve won two things!

Moroccan Chicken Tajine: I recently had a chicken tajine dish at Fig & Olive in Scarsdale, and wanted to recreate something similar at home. This is an Ina Garten recipe, and she never fails me.

"Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye. I find the xylophone haunting, and the lyrics are poignant. Love this track.
