Menu Plan Monday, 12/15 – 12/21

greenmpm Menu Plan Monday, 12/15 12/21

I’m planning a straight-forward week, with no new recipes — and I’m already looking forward to the weekend.

On Sunday we’re having our family over for our annual Hanukkah party. The latkes J. and his mom make are the star attraction, but I’m still not totally settled on what else to serve. We have a modest amount of the borscht J. made recently (it’s in the freezer) which we can serve with black bread, and I’m thinking of making a big Mediterranean Chopped Salad I just got as a test recipe from Cook’s Illustrated. We always have sufganiyot (Dunkin’ Donuts!) for dessert, so we don’t want to fill up too much on lunch!

Monday: Hummus, bagels, carrot sticks

Tuesday: Roasted chicken with carrots and parsnips, challah rolls

Wednesday: Grilled cheese sandwiches, celery sticks

Thursday: Order in pizza

Friday: Baked chicken drumsticks, broccoli, challah

Saturday: Baked Huevos Rancheros, brown rice

Sunday: Family Hanukkah Party: latkes!

Hey, we are having friends over tomorrow night and one of the things I am making is your guacamole:) Enjoy the holiday! (also used some of the snowflake crackers you sent on a cheese & cracker tray for k’s class party today!)

Want to Try

Cheesy Kale Crisps: We rarely eat kale now that our farm share is over, and I want to fix that. I've wanted to try using nutritional yeast, and this recipe looks like a tasty way to do it.

"Shake It Out" by Florence + the Machine. This song reminds me of Annie Lennox, and I love tracks that include a huge, gospel-like chorus.
