  • I made a kick-ass tofu stir-fry tonight, using broccoli, shredded carrots, scallions, and red pepper in a peanut sauce, based on a Soba, Tofu, and Vegetable Stir-Fry recipe from body + soul magazine. What an easy way to eat a lot of veggies. I felt a little indulgent cooking it because I was the only one eating: A. went into work with J. today, and G. went out to dinner with my mom. No photo, though, because the camera also went into work! (I almost feel like I didn’t really cook it, if I couldn’t photograph it…)
  • This is why you’re fat. A blog devoted to photos of creations that make deep-fried Oreos look reasonable. For instance, Junk Food Pizza: “Large meat pizza covered with potato skins, mozzarella sticks, mini taco’s, jalapeño poppers and onion rings.” Oh dear lord, I’m ill just looking at the photo. Seen at lisannesblog.net.
  • I’m looking into a share through the Purple Dragon Co-Op. I think, ultimately, I am more interested in eating locally than all-organic, all the time. Since the co-op obviously has more locally-sourced produce in the warmer months, it may be more food than I can use, along with my farm share from Roxbury. Still mulling it over, though.

Want to Try

Moroccan Chicken Tajine: I recently had a chicken tajine dish at Fig & Olive in Scarsdale, and wanted to recreate something similar at home. This is an Ina Garten recipe, and she never fails me.

"Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye. I find the xylophone haunting, and the lyrics are poignant. Love this track.
