Menu Plan Monday, 3/9 – 3/15
March 8, 2009
This past week I cooked some yummy dishes that aren’t all that great looking, but I love them anyway. My Baked Ziti and green beans dinner was an unexpected success, because G. actually loved it (it was the first time he’d eaten sauce mixed into pasta) and A. enjoyed the green beans. It was a good meal planning weak overall, though we put off making the Orange-Hoisin Short Ribs tonight. I’ll make them another weekend instead.
All of a sudden, I’m seeing Passover foods in the supermarket. Time to plan for the holiday! I’m hoping to make a timeline of preparation this week. If you’re interested, you can see my Passover kitchen from 2008.
Monday: Three pepper stir fry (frozen mix) over whole wheat spaghetti
Tuesday: Slow Cooker Italian-Style Turkey Meatballs, whole wheat egg noddles, steamed broccoli
Wednesday: Leftovers
Thursday: Lemon Roasted Chicken, roasted asparagus, challah
Friday: Chicken soup (from the freezer) with noodles, Dr. Praeger’s spinach pancakes
Saturday: Crispy Gnocchi with Brussels Sprouts and Mushrooms (new from Feb. ’09 Vegetarian Times)
Sunday: Take out or go out

My little boy loves the Dr. Praeger spinach and broccoli pancakes! We often serve them with a little plain yogurt and applesauce for dipping, and it’s a yummy lunch.
You reminded me that I have Brussels sprouts in the fridge, too! Delish!

I don’t know if I’ve told you this before, but I love how you plan your meals out like this! I definitely don’ t have that kind of discipline/dedication, but you really do inspire me to work on it
BTW, thanks for the info about Bob’s Sesame Noodles – I can’t wait to try the recipe!

Saw you on CT Style today and really enjoyed it! Do you have the recipe on your site that you made today? I’d really love to give it a try since we love chickpeas so much. Thanks!

That reminds me…now that I am over my fear of dying from sesame seeds (I know, I know) I want to make the sesame noodles too!
