Considering how packed today was, we had a pretty serene farm share pick-up. The boys were well-behaved, the vegetables were beautiful, and I got to meet Allyson, another Roxbury member who has commented here several times.

We received: 2 zucchini, 1 cucumber, loose swiss chard (I’ll use it in the Baked Lemon Pasta tomorrow night), lettuce mix, carrots, onions, sugar snap peas, a heavy cabbage, and parsley, basil, and cilantro. Best of all, NO TURNIPS!

Nice. Are those special bags the herbs are in?

Yes! They’re reusable produce bags. I figured if I’m going to bring my own grocery bags I should try to limit the number of plastic produce bags I use, as well. They are convenient for getting the herbs from our farm share, too. I bought mine here: http://www.reusablebags.com/store/acme-bagstrade-produce-snack-bags-organic-cotton-p-747.html — Dara

Want to Try

Cheesy Kale Crisps: We rarely eat kale now that our farm share is over, and I want to fix that. I've wanted to try using nutritional yeast, and this recipe looks like a tasty way to do it.

"Shake It Out" by Florence + the Machine. This song reminds me of Annie Lennox, and I love tracks that include a huge, gospel-like chorus.
