This afternoon was the first time I felt like I had to use some effort to hoist my bag of produce onto my shoulder!

We received: a quart of yellow Golden Rave tomatoes, an overflowing pint of red Juliet tomatoes, a quart of beets (no greens), 1 cucumber, basil, parsley, 6 ears of corn, 3 Carmen peppers (turning red now), 2 green bell peppers, 2 Mariachi peppers, and green beans.

I was feeling a little apathetic towards the green beans, so I was glad to find a recipe that called for them in Barbara Kingsolver’s Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, which I’m reading now. The recipe combines steamed green beans and hard-boiled eggs with mayo, basil, and some other ingredients into a guacamole-like Frijole-Mole. Could that possibly be good? I’m guessing I’ll like it.

Cheesy Kale Crisps: We rarely eat kale now that our farm share is over, and I want to fix that. I've wanted to try using nutritional yeast, and this recipe looks like a tasty way to do it.

"Shake It Out" by Florence + the Machine. This song reminds me of Annie Lennox, and I love tracks that include a huge, gospel-like chorus.
