Menu Plan Monday, 12/14 – 12/19

December 14, 2009

J. and I went down to Atlantic City this weekend, a belated celebration of our 10th wedding anniversary. We had a great time as always and so did the boys, who stayed with my parents. After a weekend of drinks and rich meals (we ate dinner at Fornelletto one night and Bobby Flay Steak the next), I am craving lots of water and salad today.

Monday: Roasted butternut squash with feta, salad, challah

Tuesday: Slow Cooker Vegetable Barley Soup (from the freezer), bagels

Wednesday: Spaghetti and meatballs in sauce, sauteed spinach

Thursday: Hungarian Beef And Cabbage Casserole, dinner rolls

Friday: Roasted chicken drumsticks, carrot coins (sliced and cooked with honey), challah (+ maybe latkes)

Saturday: Leftovers or order in

Sunday: Sweet Potato & Black Bean Burritos, rice, salsa & sour cream

About

DaraI'm Dara, the Chick in the Kitchen. Living in the suburbs of Manhattan with my two boys, ages 4 and 6, and husband. Trying to feed my family something more diverse than a different shape of pasta each night. Read more about me and CITK, or reach me at .

Want to Try

Back Bay Cookies: I was cleaning out my pantry this week and found a bag of roasted, peeled chestnuts. I'm going to sub chocolate chips for the golden raisins and make these for the boys.

Cook to This

"Breakeven" by The Script. Such a sad story in a beautiful song. I have been singing this around the house so much that G. recognizes it and tells me to stop singing "THAT!" song again.
