CSA 2010, Week 22

101102csa22 CSA 2010, Week 22

This past Wednesday we received lettuce mix, green cauliflower, fennel, sweet potatoes (in the brown bag in the back), 2 onions, a quart of potatoes, a quart of tomatoes, beets (no greens), and lacinato kale.

I am going to try kale chips again. My Aunt Barbara recently asked if I’d ever tried preparing kale this way, and I have — though I didn’t remember it fondly. When I went back into my archives I discovered I hadn’t minded them terribly when I last made them two years ago, so I’m going to try this preparation again. I have a different variety of kale this time.

Only two more pick-ups in 2010, over the next four weeks. We are off this week, so I feel I have time to get through the majority of the Week 22 share. I did use the lettuce, fennel, onions, and some tomatoes, but otherwise still have the rest to work with this coming week.

Want to Try

Moroccan Chicken Tajine: I recently had a chicken tajine dish at Fig & Olive in Scarsdale, and wanted to recreate something similar at home. This is an Ina Garten recipe, and she never fails me.

"Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye. I find the xylophone haunting, and the lyrics are poignant. Love this track.
