Menu Plan Monday, 2/14 – 2/20

This week’s menu plan seems like a lot of food, doesn’t it? Regardless, I’ll forge ahead and freeze leftovers for a week when I need a cooking break.

I’m in charge of bringing in cupcakes for a 100th Day of School celebration, probably on Friday. I have an idea where I’d make the number “100” stand up on each cupcake out of a slice of a Hershey bar and two Hershey Kisses. I thought that would be a little different than writing “100” on each cupcake. I’m going to buy my materials tomorrow and test it out. Any other 100th Day treat suggestions? I’m all ears.

Monday: Vegetarian Mushroom Barley Soup, challah rolls, garden salad

Tuesday: Italian Lentil & Vegetable Stew, ciabatta rolls, sliced fresh mozzarella

Wednesday: Roasted chicken drumsticks, spaghetti squash with marinara sauce, roasted broccoli

Thursday: Eat out or leftovers

Friday: Smoked Beef Rib (from the freezer) tacos with lettuce, tomato, and cilantro; brown rice and salsa

Saturday: Chana Masala (Chickpea Curry), whole wheat pita

Sunday: Slow Cooker Vegetable Barley Soup, Sunflower Whole Wheat Quick Bread

  1. This is no help with your 100th day plans, but I thought this idea was cute (germs aside)…for our grade one class each child is to bring 100 small snack items…skittles, animal crackers, whatever…then they’ll put them all into one big bowl, stir, and each child gets a scoop:)

  2. You know how I am about germs…I was just thinking of the germs from them counting out 100 at home ahead of time!;)

  3. How about some kind of circle candy/lifesavers for the 0s and pretzel sticks/licorice/anything straight for the 1.
