mealplanmonday v1 Menu Plan Monday, 9/12 9/18

Although it may look like I only menu plan and pick up my farm share lately, I have actually been doing quite a bit of cooking. Finding the time to get those dishes onto this site has been harder than usual recently, but I promise I have a very delicious backlog of recipes you will eventually get to see.

It was great to get back to real food and almost-daily cooking this past week. We were also able to pull a feast for six out of our freezer, thanks to a chuck roast & peppers medley J. had smoked several weeks ago. We vacuum-sealed the leftovers, and along with some gazpacho from the freezer (also made by J.), green beans, and frozen prepared rice (from when I made Chana Saag), we had a holiday-worthy meal in no time at all.

Monday: Bagels, chicken salad, sliced tomatoes

Tuesday: Hamburgers, homemade oven-baked potato chips, Mustard Vinaigrette Beet Salad

Wednesday: Wild Rice with Wild Mushrooms, roasted squash (bumped from last week; plus pasta for the boys, as this is really outside their comfort zone)

Thursday: Greek Baked Beans, Italian bread, cheese

Friday: Chicken soup with noodles, challah, farm share vegetables

Saturday: Eat out

Sunday: J. grills

Want to Try

Moroccan Chicken Tajine: I recently had a chicken tajine dish at Fig & Olive in Scarsdale, and wanted to recreate something similar at home. This is an Ina Garten recipe, and she never fails me.

"Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye. I find the xylophone haunting, and the lyrics are poignant. Love this track.
